Vibration compaction equipment is used in the foundation treatment project of the first-level node of the Dadu River Yingliangbao Hydropower Station

The CI-2 section of the Da Du River Ying Liang Bao Hydropower Station project's main works foundation treatment is located on the main stream of the Da Du River in Lengqi Town, Luding County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is the 14th power station in the newly planned 28-level scheme for the main stream of the Da Du River in Sichuan Province, upstream of the Luding Hydropower Station, and downstream connected to the Dagangshan Hydropower Station. The main works adopt a "lateral intake, forward sand-flushing flood discharge" layout, consisting of water retaining structures, water discharge and sand-flushing structures, intake, power generation structures, fish passage structures and water conveyance structures. The main works vibro-stone column engineering mainly treats the foundation of the concrete dam. Among them, the right bank panel rockfill dam adopts a foundation treatment scheme combining vibro-stone columns and pressure weighting. Downstream of the panel rockfill dam foundation, pilot hole construction and vibro-stone column treatment are carried out in the sandy soil layer, with a square arrangement. Near the toe plate, connecting plate and cutoff wall, vibro-stone columns are used for treatment. The bearing capacity of the vibro-stone column pile body is not less than 850 kPa, and the modulus of deformation is not less than 50 MPa; the content of gravel with a particle size of less than 5 mm is not more than 10%, the clay content is not more than 5%, and the saturated compressive strength is greater than 80 MPa. In the construction operation of this project, all the vibrators used are developed and produced by Beijing Vibro Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd.

On the afternoon of November 20, 2020, Beijing Zhenchong Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd. (Zhenchong Machinery) held a technical exchange meeting on vibratory compaction pile foundation treatment engineering cases organized by the Geotechnical Engineering Committee of the Beijing Society of Civil Engineering. At the meeting, experts from the Geotechnical Engineering Committee of the Beijing Society of Civil Engineering and Beijing Zhenchong Engineering Co., Ltd. gave presentations and exchanged views on topics such as analysis of the technology and application of crushed stone pile foundation reinforcement, and design methods for controlling deformation of foundation, as well as the development and application of new vibratory compaction technologies. The meeting was hosted by Lu Wei, Director of Human Resources at Beijing Zhenchong Engineering Co., Ltd., and Yu Hongzhi, Chief Engineer, attended the meeting and gave a comprehensive introduction to the company’s basic situation and the development of vibratory compaction technology.

The exchange meeting was divided into five parts: Part 1 Analysis of Stone Column Foundation Reinforcement Technology and Application, Part 2 Treatment of Liquefied Foundation in Complex Environments, Part 3 Design Methods and Application of Foundation Deformation Control, Part 4 Application of Bottom Discharge Vibroflotation Method and Real-time Data Quality Control of the Whole Process of Vibroflotation Stone Column Construction, Part 5 Introduction to Typical Vibroflotation Engineering Cases. During the exchange, experts from the Geotechnical Engineering Committee of the Beijing Society of Civil Engineering raised questions about the vibroflotation method, such as whether problems encountered in foundation treatment could be solved using the vibroflotation method. Through in-depth explanations by our company's expert group, the attendees gained a better understanding of the vibroflotation method, highly recognized its application in foundation reinforcement, and expressed their expectation for further in-depth discussions, exchanges, and cooperation. The exchange meeting concluded successfully.
