The Bay Dragon Back Fish Pond revetment vibratory stone column reinforcement project has been successfully completed.

[Overview] On July 4, 2022, the vibro-stone column reinforcement project (below 305-meter elevation) and the plastic concrete seepage-preventing wall project of the Bay Longbei fish pond revetment, undertaken by Beijing Zhenchong Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd., were successfully completed.

On July 4, 2022, the vibro-stone column reinforcement project and the plastic concrete seepage-proof wall project below the 305-meter elevation of the Wanlongbei fish pond revetment, undertaken by Beijing Zhenchong Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd., were successfully completed.

The project is located in Beidianzi Township, Huanren County, Benxi City, Liaoning Province. The fish pond embankment is located on a small tributary in the Huanren Reservoir and the Wanlongbei submerged area, in a "U"-shaped valley within the watershed. It is strip-shaped, with a total length of about 280m. The geological structure on both sides of the dam is composed of artificial fill, slope diluvial silty clay, and variably weathered metamorphic rocks from top to bottom.

Our company uses a combination of vibro-compaction and seepage-proof wall technology, pioneering new technical fields in water conservancy dam foundation reinforcement projects and successfully applying them in this project. The project mainly uses vibro-stone columns as a composite foundation and a seepage-proof wall as a dam slope protection to achieve overall reinforcement of the fish pond. By adding two rows of vibro-stone columns on both sides of the central axis of the dam body (the main location of the seepage-proof wall), it not only highlights the water permeability and consolidation function of the vibro-stone columns but also addresses the liquefaction problem of the backfill foundation, increases the density of the dam body, increases the lateral shear strength of the soil, and allows the dam body backfill layer to reach the pre-settlement of the surrounding soil of the seepage-proof wall before the construction of the seepage-proof wall. At the same time, the vibro-stone columns reduce the damage of external forces to the seepage-proof wall, reduce the pressure on the wall, making the dam body more stable, and making the flexible seepage-proof effect of the plastic concrete seepage-proof wall more prominent.

The total project volume is 10694.69 meters. In the processing of vibro-stone columns, our company uses 75KW vibro-equipment, with an average depth of 13.3 meters, a pile diameter of 0.8 meters, a pile spacing of 2.0 meters, and a rectangular pile layout. Materials with a particle size of 0.5-0.7 mm and a saturated compressive strength greater than 85 MPa are used. The bearing capacity of the treated foundation fak≥150kPa.

Beijing Zhenchong Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd., a group of steadfast, responsible, and dedicated vibro-people, overcame various unfavorable natural conditions, including heavy snow in March, excessively thick frozen soil layers making drilling difficult, and consecutive heavy rains in May, and still completed the construction task with guaranteed quality and quantity, gaining high recognition from the client and injecting strong impetus into the development of the vibro-engineering field.
