Laughing at the dust, unaware of dawn, years of smoke and mist. Returning, raising twin swan wings, a song of the ages. Hard to say if Zhong Le knew all, having traveled countless streams and mountains, what fear of heights? Facing this scene, thirty autumns have passed, not mentioning age.

Water gradually shows its beauty, my heart wanders. The green is tender, particularly precious. Around the shoals and reefs by the riverbank, the path of the brave is swift. A swift messenger arrives across the plains, a thousand anxieties subside in joyful tears. Thinking of the return journey, borrowing the slight intoxication of yesterday, to seek the battle.
 

Zhang Xiaohong, Equipment Maintenance Supervisor of Beijing Zhenchong Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd., a domestic expert in vibro-compaction construction, and a senior consulting advisor for vibro-compaction construction. Since 1986, for more than 30 years, he has been dedicated to the field of vibro-compaction construction, starting from the grassroots level, and has successively held positions such as electrician, machine operator, locomotive operator, deputy team leader, team leader, and project general manager, almost all relevant positions in vibro-compaction construction. Since 2015, he has served as the Equipment Maintenance Supervisor of Beijing Zhenchong Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd., and since 2017, he has concurrently served as the Senior Consulting Advisor for vibro-compaction construction of Beijing Zhenchong Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd.

With an ordinary but resolute face, simple but firm language, and a thin but swift figure, it's hard to tell that this is a well-known domestic vibro-compaction construction expert who has been working in the field for more than 30 years and possesses extraordinary skills. From the installation and debugging of vibro-compaction equipment to its use and maintenance, from the comprehensive management of vibro-compaction construction to the management and coordination of the construction team, from the solutions to difficult construction problems to the handling of crisis situations, Zhang Xiaohong is the steady hand in the vibro-compaction construction team.

As a member of the second generation of vibro-compaction professionals in China and among the earliest to engage in large-scale vibro-compaction construction, Zhang Xiaohong has participated in nearly 80 vibro-compaction construction projects, which are spread across the country, as well as Southeast Asia and Africa. Among the projects he participated in, there are some representative national key projects, such as the 30-meter vibro-compaction foundation treatment project for the cofferdam in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River Three Gorges, the vibro-compaction foundation treatment project for the Feilaixia Hydropower Station, the Caofeidian National Petroleum Reserve Project, and the Inner Mongolia Wula Mountain Thermal Power Plant vibro-compaction foundation treatment project, etc. Having experienced much, Zhang Xiaohong has honed his skills and become a representative figure in the vibro-compaction field.

Whether it's large-scale power plant facility foundation reinforcement, ultra-long vibro-compaction construction exceeding 35 meters, underwater vibro-compaction construction, or the first domestic hydraulic vibro-compactor construction and the first domestic application of bottom discharge technology, Zhang Xiaohong has personally experienced them. His rich experience and many years of expertise give him confidence in the implementation and problem-solving of vibro-compaction construction.

For Zhang Xiaohong, the most memorable experiences were after he became a team leader. As a team leader, besides leading the team to complete construction tasks efficiently, quickly, with high quality and quantity, he is also responsible for the daily life and safety of team members. During the construction of the Huangbizhuang Dam vibro-compaction foundation reinforcement project, the hydraulic vibro-compactor used for construction suddenly lost power and stopped after drilling 22 meters due to a malfunction. Usually, this vibro-compactor would be discarded due to the difficulty of removal, which means a huge loss of company property. As the construction team leader, Zhang Xiaohong did not give up easily, but after considering and trying various solutions, he finally decided to use two 200-ton jacks combined with hole enlargement. After two days and nights of effort, the vibro-compactor was finally removed, avoiding the company's property loss. Through the handling of this accident, Zhang Xiaohong deeply realized that to do a good job in vibro-compaction construction, it is not only necessary to have good professional ethics and skills, but also to have foresight about the operation of equipment, as well as courage to overcome difficulties and persevere.

During the construction of the Xincheng Reservoir project, an internal construction worker went out without asking for leave and lost contact, and a dangerous situation threatening personal safety occurred. After discovering the missing person, Zhang Xiaohong immediately organized personnel to search overnight, and finally the missing personnel returned safely without any danger. Through this incident, Zhang Xiaohong deeply realized that safety management in construction is not only on the construction site, but also the personnel system management is also an important responsibility of the team leader.

Since 2013, Zhang Xiaohong has transitioned from a first-line construction management personnel to a maintenance management personnel for construction equipment and a consulting management personnel for construction technology. He said that although his job has changed, the passion and fighting spirit burning in him have not changed at all, because everything he does is still for the same cause - vibro-compaction! His busy figure appears in factory workshops, company training rooms, design institute meeting rooms, customer offices, and of course, the vibro-compaction construction sites at home and abroad that he loves and is reluctant to leave.

He uses his years of accumulated experience and knowledge to teach construction techniques, solve difficult problems, and spread the vibro-compaction culture. The book "Organization and Implementation of Vibro-compaction Construction" is the crystallization of his 30 years of wisdom in vibro-compaction construction. He said, as a member of the second generation of vibro-compaction professionals in China, I hope this book can help the new generation of vibro-compaction professionals and our customers better understand and use vibro-compaction. Our generation of vibro-compaction professionals has experienced ups and downs, like a sapling, deeply rooted in this land of vibro-compaction, absorbing nutrients, and growing into a big tree. We have the responsibility to extend the branches of the big tree far away, influence and drive more vibro-compaction professionals, and let the vibro-compaction spirit, which symbolizes progress and struggle, become a positive culture, promoting the development of the vibro-compaction industry in China and even the world.

Zhang Xiaohong believes that his connection with vibro-compaction is both accidental and inevitable. Through 30 years of experience in vibro-compaction construction, he has not only learned various professional knowledge and social experience, but also met countless like-minded colleagues and friends. A group of young people from different backgrounds, fields, and experiences gather together to demonstrate their abilities, expand their potential, overcome hardships together, share success together, and create vibro-compaction together. For him, vibro-compaction is far more than just a means of making a living; it is also a platform for self-expression and emotional attachment. With increasing age, his attachment and affection for vibro-compaction are becoming stronger and stronger, and he is willing to contribute all his strength to vibro-compaction.
